Marie McCarthy Obituary

MCCARTHY, Marie M. (Foley) 83, of Peabody, wife of the late Thomas W. McCarthy, died on Friday, October 24, 2008. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Thomas P. and Catherine McCarthy of Manchester MD, James M. and Karen McCarthy of Baltimore MD, Paul R. McCarthy, William B. McCarthy and Laureen Parent all of Peabody and Jean M. and Patrick Fletcher of Whitman; dear sister and sister-in-law of Edith and George Whelpley of Orange County CA; cherished grandmother of Christine, Mary and Meghan McCarthy of MD and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Richard C. and Marie (Madden) Foley, her son Kevin J. McCarthy in 1988, and her brother Richard C. Foley. Her funeral will be held on Monday, October 27, 2008 at 8 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., (location) PEABODY followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lynn. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to The Lighthouse Foundation of Beacon Hospice, 529 Main St., Charlestown, MA 02129. Ret. administrative assistant at S.S. Pierce Co.
