Daddy, you are the most caring, gentle man I have ever known. I am truly blessed to have had you in my life. Not a day goes by when I do not think of you.

Everyone thinks their father was the greatest man there ever was, but after reading these messages, and all of the words from those who have known you, I know in my heart there will never again be a man as wonderful as you.

Ryan, Brent, Michelle and myself have been 4 of the luckiest kids to have had you in our lives and we will never be the same without you. I hope you are at peace and can now finally rest.

Until we meet again daddy I will hold you in my heart until I can hold you in my arms.

Love you eternally,
your little boo-boo

To All in the extended Getchell Family:

Please know so many of us throughout the Town share in your loss and in your love of Larry. He was someone whom you always enjoyed running into; he made being his friend a joy. What I will always remember is Larry's loyalty to his family, his devotion to his kids and his support for everything connected to the Town's youth programs. Larry is a good guy who will always be fondly remembered.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Larry and his entire family. He was a pretty special guy and even as he was hurting over the last year or so, never complained. I'll always remember him as probably the quietest Getchell of all. We all know how quiet the rest are? Again, my thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

This is by far the toughest loss of the season for our program. Larry's contributions to the youth of this community are far greater than anyone can imagine. When the sun peaks over the Tobin Bridge on any given Sunday during football season, that will be our sign that Larry is watching over us...
