Thomas White Obituary

WHITE, Thomas J., Jr. 73, Of Marstons Mills, formerly of Dedham, passed away suddenly, but peacefully, on Oct. 28, 2008. Son of the late Thomas J & Mabel (Baer) White. Loving husband of Frances Teresa (Latfy) White. Devoted father of Stephen R. & Richard T. both of W. Roxbury, David A. of S. Attleboro, Peter J. of Nuremberg, Germany, & Karen E. Quartarone of Nashua, NH. Brother of Norma Moulton of Norwood, MA., & the late Alan White. He also leaves 5 grandchildren. Born in Boston, a graduate of Charlestown High School in 1953, he served in the US Army from 1954-56. Tom was employed at MIT in Cambridge for 38 years until his retirement in 1995. Visiting hours will be in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd, (Rte 28) MARSTONS MILLS on Fri., Oct. 31, 2008 from 5-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St Mary's Church, 420 High St., Dedham, MA on Sat., Nov. 1, at 9AM. Burial will follow in Brookdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom's memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 100 North St., Hyannis, MA 02601 or the American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701

Mr. White,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during the Cold War. Millions of Americans slept safe at night because you and your fellow Servicemen stood ready to defend our Country. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
