At the mark of the 12 year anniversary of your passing I can’t say it has gotten easier. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of you and with the passing of each day I understand you more. I miss your wit and wisdom and our conversations. So many things have happened that I want to pick up the phone and tell you about or just sit and chat. I am becoming more like you as the years weather on and when I reflect on this I am proud. You were a great man, a great Grandfather and a great teacher. I often wonder what your opinion would be with the state of the world today and laugh to myself as I guess what your response would be. You are so loved and missed sorely. I hope that whatever your next chapter is it brings you joy and happiness. Until we meet again dear sir.

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling. From glen to glen, and down the mountain side. The summer's gone and all the flowers are dying 'tis you, 'tis you must go and i must bide. But come ye back when summer's in the meadow. Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow. 'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.

And if you come, when all the flowers are dying And i am dead, as dead i well may be. You'll come and find the place where I am lying And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.

And i shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be. If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

I miss you sooo much Grandpa. Please kiss Grandma for me and when we see each other again, Boat drinks. I love you, you are my rock, my beacon, my moral compass. I hope i make you proud. The world has gotten less great and i feel blessed to have had you in my life. Sleep well.
