Euripidies: "When good men die their goodness does not perish but lives though they are gone."
Socrates: "No evil can happen to a good man either in life or after death."
I will always remember your laugh and the quiet smile on your face, as if you were thinking of something wise and humorous but beyond the ken of those around you. Of all my uncles I was most comfortable in your presence. Gil made me laugh and Bernie and Uncle Manny taught me the mechanics of the world, but you made me think and enjoy the greatness of words.
I will not miss you, for you will never be gone in my mind.

Mr. Rosenthal,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
