Marie Shea Obituary

SHEA, Marie E. Age 99, of Stoneham and Pt. Independence, Wareham; formerly of Cambridge and Somerville on October 28, 2008. Devoted wife of the late Joseph D. Shea. Daughter of the late Angelina Duarte and sister of the late Manuel, Gilda Thomas and Francis. Marie leaves her loving family: William and his wife Patricia of Mashpee, Carolyn O'Neil and her husband Deacon Cy O'Neil of Stoneham, LuAnn Briggett of Somerville and Alfred of Plymouth; seven grandchildren: William, Robert, Melissa and Kevin Shea, Christopher and Cynthia O'Neil, and Marlissa Briggett, as well as nine great-grandchildren. Marie was an avid knitter and quilter. As a member of the MIT Women's League, she participated in their semi-annual Craft Fairs. Her handmade items have made their way to many countries and have been used by several generations of children. Funeral from the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge St., EAST CAMBRIDGE. Visiting hours on Sunday 2 - 5 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church in E. Cambridge on Monday at 9 a.m. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's memory may be made to The Salvation Army, 23 Vernon St., Boston 02119 who so generously supply Thanksgiving dinners to families.
