Sally Mapel Yeomans

YEOMANS, Sally (Fitchett) Mapel Age 80, of Westport Point died Sunday, November 2, 2008 at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Edward Yeomans. Mrs. Yeomans was born in Toano, Virginia, daughter of the late Kendall L. and Lulu B. (Marston) Fitchett, and attended Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia and the College of William and Mary. She lived in the Boston area and worked at Shady Hill School in Cambridge, the Greater Boston Teachers Center (Cambridge) and Elderhostel (Watertown/Boston). She was a member of Boston's Chorus pro Musica for 28 years. She served as a member of the Friends of the Westport Council On Aging, Concerts at the Point, and the Westport Point United Methodist Church. She leaves two sons, Andrew Mapel of Natick, MA and Timothy Mapel of Hawkes Bay, New Zealand; her first husband, Donald R. Mapel of Lexington, MA; five grandchildren; a step-son, Thomas R. Yeomans of Colrain, MA; a step-daughter, Judith Abbott of Waitsfield, VT; eight step-grandchildren; ten step-great grandchildren; and a sister, Miriam Middleton of Westminster, CO. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at the Westport Point United Methodist Church, 1912 Main Road, Westport, MA.
