Dear Janet;
There are so very many things and places that I will never again be able to think of without thinking of you: a walk along a foggy beach in Weekapaug; long, quiet drives to the four corners of New England, listening to---what else?---the music of Enya on the car stereo; Metro North's New Haven line; Central Park on a glorious autumn day; the Hill-Stead on a rainy day, the Frick on a bitterly cold one (after a brisk running-walk from Grand Central); "Cats"; and (a second time) more "Cats"; and one very special cat (Precious); quiet, civilized evenings in your Farmington den, fireplace ablaze, viewing 'Les Miserables' (again, and again, and.....again); Nat King Cole's "Stardust"; perfecting the perfect Old Fashioned; Crote & Wiegel ("Or is that Croak and Wiggle...?") hot dogs for lunch---every day, so it seemed, for a week straight; a stop at 'Dave's' on the way to the beach; Litchfield; traversing the entire length of Cliff Walk in Newport, including clambering over rock outcroppings and dangerous ledges, in our street shoes; so many concerts and plays that I have lost count.....
Thank you for your warm and gracious friendship.

I will be thinking of all of you as you gather to remember and celebrate "GranJan". She was a dear and true friend--and she loved you all so much and loved spending time with you. I cherish all the time I spent with her and all of you.

I send my sincere sympathy to your family. One of my fondest memories with your Mother, was our trip to Italy, Switzerland and a touch of France. We had one of the BEST laugh times, of life, ever!!
Thank you for sharing your Mom with me!
