Lenny was a faithful friend. He believed in fair play. Lenny served both God and mankind well. Lenny was a good warrior for the Lord. Sleep well, Faithful Friend!
To Sherrill and Children: The signs are foretelling that Lenny's sleep will be short. Soon we will be rejoicing in voctory!! There under the Tree of Life.... where the two Adam's are about to meet.... and we all shout for victory.... Heaven IS cheap enough!!

Lenny had such a dry sense of humor I wasn't sure when to laugh. It's what I remember from way back in my little mind, since I was still in the "single digits" when he and Sherrill moved to Maine and made our church their home, too.
He snapped one of my favorite photos of our family on Christmas Day '88. I also remember his gardening skills; his swiss chard was always a favorite of mine to look forward to every summer.
Thinking of Lenny means thinking of gardening. How can I forget the load of chicken manure he delivered for my mom? Gracious... the yard stunk for a couple of years! He swore it was the best stuff for the garden. I'm sure he was right, but I'm no gardener, and I can't remember how the garden turned out that year!
He was a soldier for Jesus, and the Lord laid down another warrior before His second coming. Sherrill, Michael, Emily, and Andrew, I pray that this time comes so quickly so we can all be reunited with lost family members.

Dearest Sherrill, Michael, Emily, and Andrew,--May my loving thoughts and prayers be with you always. Lenny was an inspiration to so many of us!! His brilliant, engineering brain--quick witted, always multi-tasking-- family, friends, working, his sensitvity with his patients, farming, ducks, dogs, vegetables, pheasants, stained glass, carpentry, commuting, always awe-inspiring. I feel blessed, to have been touched by his life!!

I never knew him very well, but any time I saw him he was always nice to me. I was very shocked and saddened to hear he had passed. I never knew he was sick and my deepest condolences go out to his family in this difficult time. I hope that one day you can see him again.

Dear Sherrill,
I was so sorry to hear of Lenny's death. I'll always remember the weekend a VERY pregnant Sherrill needed respite from kids and kitchen. Days before welcoming another Little Kinney, Lenny donned his MR MOM hat. You, Roberta & I were set for a gals night out, only to discover Limerick had pulled up the rugs before it got dark under the table. While it may not have been the evening you anticipated, it made for a good memory. I know there are many more like it, for all of you.
Entrusting you all to your Creator, Carmen

We will miss Lenny so much! He was always so willing to help whenever we needed him. He helped bury our dog when I was all alone. The dog weighed 200 pounds, and I couldn't move her alone. Lenny came over and helped me take care of the situation, and in his dry humor asked if we were going to have some kind of "ceremony"! I remember the day he married Sherrill - they seemed so right for each other! Lenny told me that that was the "best move I ever made!" He loved his children so much too! Lenny isn't suffering any more - just sleeping in Jesus - waiting for the resurrection morning when Jesus comes in those clouds in the East and shouts, "Awake! Awake! Awake!" And those who have died knowing and loving Jesus will hear His voice and awake!! We'll be reunited with our loved ones once again!! Sherrill, Michael, Emily, and Andrew: "Til the Day dawn!"

I first met Lennie thirty years ago when I arrived at BCH. He taught me a great deal about X-ray and I enjoyed working and talking to him.
Due to different schedules, we didn't see each other much in the last few years, but I liked the times when we would bump into one another. I will always remember Lennie.

Kinney Family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked with Lenny for about 25 years at BMC. He was a mentor to me from the beginning. I learned many tricks of the xray trade from him. I will miss him

My thoughts are with you and your children. Lenny was a wonderful x-ray mentor, who will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.
