I drove a truck & delivered fish to the West Coast for 'Sea Cold' in Gloucheaster. Destino's was a favorite stop when in that 'fair' city' Alex was always there with a smile ready to serve the customer. ALEX----Gone, but 'certainly' not forgotten!!!

John, Jim and Tucker,

Please accept our deepest sympathies. I just recently heard of your Dad's passing. I have fond memories of joining Bass Rocks and him being one of the first members I met and one of the friendliest. I'll remember him proudly telling me "we Destinos can putt." He obviously was right.

To my dear cousins,
I can only trust Uncle Alex is reunited with his wife and daughter and mother and father, and brothers and sisters who has gone before him, in a perfect place of peace love and everlasting wisdom, continuing to bring a laugh to all he meets. My heart will always remember the delight he brought to my life as a child. As as adult, when I visited over the years I always looked forward to seeing your cute faces, plus a tuna sub with lots of pickles for lunch! Destino's was a non-negotiable stop, always there to go home to. Thank you Jimmy and Judy, Mark, Sandy, Alex jr., Marilyn and all your loved ones for keeping it going.
I will always remember your dad smiling, my handsome uncle with that twinkle in his eye!
With Love,
his niece,

To John, Marilyn, Jim, Mark and Sandy, your families, and particularly all his grandchildren....when the pain begins to subside -- and it will -- what will remain are individual and shared memories that each of you have from a lifetime. Despite a person's deeds or contributions, those warm special and personal memories, your memories, are what people mean when they talk about a legacy, and are what I truly wish for each of you.

Warmly,
Stew

Dear Destino Family:

I am saddened to hear of Alex's passing-My Mom and Dad, Buzz and Janet Tyler, lived at Creciente in FT Myers Beach--and I have come to know Alex over the years on my annual visits.

I was raised in Ohio..and as the only member of my family currently living in New England- My sons ( now aged 13 and 16 now)and I LOVED seeing Alex and secretly talking about our NE teams-but at the same time--respecting my own Dad's total support of the Cleveland Indians.

My own private memory of Alex--and one I suspect that will carry through to the day I have my own grandchildren, is the day he taught my two competing sons how to blow water threw their swimming noodles at each other. This lesson continues to be practiced and perfected and passed on to thier friends..and I do think fondly of your Dad each and every time- ( really I do!)

I miss those times at Creciente- my own Dad passed last year--Our love and thoughts are with you,

Jane Tyler Decker and sons, Kyle and Steven

I've tried them everywhere I've lived and never found a better 'sub' than Destino's. I was a customer from the little shop across the street beginning in 1959. My grandparents lived upstairs from the 'other' shop.
Alex was a always good to teenagers - not all shop owners can claim that.
Please accept my condolences

Alex is a great loss not only to you, but to the community of Gloucester.

Alex supported Ward II pee wee football when i played, and Frank Marr helped.

A great man, and his children that are my age that i knew are a tribute to Alex and his wife.

Life as we know it in reality is but the blink of an eye
It's the heritage we leave behind to share
Alex was a man of courage and wisdom not to be denied
A City Leader of great compassion and care
The lord may have taken him to his home to stay
But he will never be erased from our hearts
Beloved Grandfather, Father and Mentor to his last day
His love and faith from us never to part
May our Heavenly Father give him eternal rest
Until we all awaken to that great promise of faith
That they that believe in my father will never die
For they will inherit eternal life beyond Heaven's golden gates
