Roberta Cappiello Obituary

CAPPIELLO, Roberta (Frye) Of Buzzards Bay and West Palm Beach, Florida, died on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at her home in Buzzards Bay, at the age of 83. She was the wife of Michael R. Cappiello for 62 years. Born February 24, 1925, she was the 5th of 6 children of the late William M. and Hilda Frye. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis approximately 50 years ago, she was very active with the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Massachusetts. Mrs. Cappiello was a past president of the Braintree Women's Club and enjoyed playing bridge, golf, swimming and traveling. She also, with her husband, established substantial scholarships with the Town of Bourne for Suffolk University Law School in Boston, where a lecture hall is named in her honor, and Union College in Schenectady, NY. Besides her husband, survivors include her three children, Robert Cappiello and wife, Clara of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Carol Couture and husband Robert of Andover, MA and Susan Cappiello of Santa Barbara, CA; eight grandchildren, Penelope, Monica, Melissa and Tiffanny Cappiello, Stephanie, Michael and Elizabeth Couture, and Tara Schlener-Barbo; three brothers and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her health care providers, Ella Graham of New Bedford and Elsie Jones of Port Charles, VA. Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the National MS Society, P. O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
