Hello Everyone,
A year has gone by between tears, laughs, frowns and smiles caused by memories of the times we shared. Every year after Dad's yearly physical he would tell us there were "no problems," and his doctor was amazed at how healthy he was and see him next year. 2008 came and his health failed. Medical intervention could not give him a full recovery. No comprise was allowed and he passed on to the next place we will share memories.
Sometimes we thought maybe it was a mistake, not true, but when we call or visit home he is not there to talk about sports, religion, war, politics, work, travel, family, friends, love, hate, and health.
Maybe as another year goes by we will sense it is permanent, and that he will greet us when our time comes to pass. For now we will keep him alive with all the blessings he gave us to enjoy on earth without expecting anything back.
Thank you all for your prayers.

Dad's Prayer by his daughter
Our family is blessed to see everyone today and grateful for your kindness during this time remembering the life of our Dad.
We extend a special thank you to everyone that cared for my Dad. To those who knew him well and to those that he recently met during his time of need.
We pray heavenly father to welcome my Dad into your divine presence.
Lord take away his tears and comfort his heart to bring a smile to his face that we all loved to see.
We ask you to grant blessings in my father's name to heal our hearts and embrace our family and friends to instill in them the faith to live through this day and more days to come.
Everyone please remember my Dad through his family with harmonious peace and joy. Remember his smile. Remember his laugh. Remember his joyfulness, his generosity and his kindness.
He enjoyed being with all of you during good and hard times.
He brought us pleasure with his cooking, his stories, paintings, poetry and sometimes just being Nick.
We will miss him.

Rose,
Nick was one of the first members we met when we joined the Elks. He left a good and lasting impression on us as we proceeded through the investigation process. Over the years, Nick was always there to work, assist, greet, and fill in whenever needed. We will miss him and wish you strength as you grieve.

Rose,
I was so sad to learn of Nick's passing. I have so many wonderful memories.
When I was elected Exalted Ruler at the Elks it was my pleasure to ask Nick to serve as Lodge Chaplain. He had never held a Lodge Office before and he was not sure that he was right for the job. However, he graciously accepted the position and performed the job admirably. As evidence of his great work he was asked many other times to serve the Lodge. I will be forever proud and grateful to Nick for all of his hard work and advice.
More than anything, however, I will always treasure his friendship. He had a smile that would light up the room and a kind word for everyone. These are the happy memories that I will always hold close.
My sincere hope for you and for your family is that you will find peace and comfort in your own happy memories. Until then please know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Nick was a true gentleman and he will be sorely missed.
"Sleep my brother and peace be with you."
