I was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Mr. William Gerson. I was a student of his last year at Framingham High School. I would like to say that he was one of the best teachers that I have ever had. His methods of teaching were brilliant, as he linked the current events with the events in history that he taught.
I will never forget him for the rest of my life. He will be greatly missed, and all of us at Framingham High School would like to offer our condolences, and my heart and prayers go out to the entire Gerson family in this time of sadness. Thank you for sharing him with all of us here at Framingham High School, and God Bless You.

I am shocked to hear that we won't be seeing Bill at the first basketball game to share his excitement about the season. There was no one who loved this university, its people, its courses, its students more than Bill. His enthusiasm, work and involvement brought many new students here to make it a far stronger, richer community. We can all take some comfort in the thought that his spirit will always be alive on the BC campus.

To the Gerson family,
The Longfellow Sports Club would like to extend our thoughts and prayers with you. Bill was an exceptional member, always with a political joke or warm story of his family as he walked into our club. He will be greatly missed by staff and other members.

I did not have the good fortune to personally meet Mr. Gerson, but I met him in another way - through his daughter, Megan. I have had the pleasure to work with Megan in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a country mired in conflict with immense health needs. I have seen Megan's strong work ethic, compassion, and professionalism - so in this way I have met her father. She also spoke so well of her father and her pride in him was obvious. Mr. Gerson, I can assure you that you have clearly done a wonderful job in rearing your daughter and of that you can be proud. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family as they learn how to cope with the lost of their husband and father.

To the Gerson Family:
I'd like to extend my deepest sympathies to you all. My father shared the news with me yesterday. Growing up going to BC games with my dad Bob and my brother Bryan, we used to always enjoy hearing his voice and repeating his chants on the way home after a big game!! Mark Molinsky for threeeeee!! or Maallllcommm Huckabeeeee for threee!!! He was a great man and I'm sorry his life was cut short due to this horrible disease. My father wishes he could have been there for him during these past few months as they both fought through their battles. Take care. -Shawn

Ellie,
I was shocked last night to learn of Bill's death. I knew him for many years with the Alumni Association and Volunteer Admissions at BC. Very good memories as Bill did a great job starting the Alumni Voluneer program. He loved BC,but he loved his family first and foremost. I never talked with Bill when he didn't mention you or the children. My deepest condolences to you and all your family.
