Hard to believe it's been a year already. I was in the Berkshires last year when I received the news of Dr Rekant's passing. I just returned from Lee today. Knowing of her love of that area I thought of her often this past week as I have throughout the year. She is still sorely missed.

I found out just last night that Dr. Rekant had passed, and I wanted to let her family and friends know how much this patient---and I'm sure many, many others---appreciated her help and respected her. Her love for her family, her humor, intelligence, and love of books, gardening, and traveling were all readily apparent. I respected her as a therapist but also admire how she lived. I am better for having spent time with her. My thoughts are with her family and friends.

I had heard that Marjorie was ill, and somehow I just thought of doing a search on her name now in January, and was saddened to see that the first entry was her obituary. She was my therapist, only a couple of years older than I, during my psychology fellowship around the late 1970's or early 1980's, and helped me get through a difficult time of transition. I was young and self-conscious in the therapy; only when I happened to run into her about 15 years ago did I fully realize what a warm, effervescent person she was. I frequently remember with a smile the time that, on my way into her office, I crossed paths with her daughter who was then maybe 5, and who asked me, "Are you my mother's patient?"
My sympathy to her family.

I was going to refer Marjorie's number to my friend and I saw this. I am terribly saddened by this and I send you a prayer and all my love.

What I remember most about Margie was how intensely interested she was in people and in the world, and how generously she extended her sympathy and support to others, even as she was struggling with her illness. We will sorely miss her spirited presence in our neighborhood.

I was introduce to Dr. Rekant 20+ years ago. I can't find words at the moment other than my life is a little emptier with her passing. She had one of the best laughs ever and I will miss it. My condolences to her family and all who knew her.

I came to know Marjorie through her involvement with the Fresh Pond Advisory Board and am so sorry to hear of her passing. She is a sweet soul and will be sadly missed. My condolences to her family and friends.

It is such a geat loss to us who have known Marjorie professionally and personally.
What a wonderful, gracious woman with a quick wit and easy smile.
