Sylvia Sangiolo Obituary

SANGIOLO, Sylvia (Elka) Of Groton, MA, formerly of Carlisle, MA. Wife of Thomas Louis Sangiolo. Mother of Irene Pippin and Valerie Carpenter Noey. Died November 11th, 2008 in Boston. She graduated cum laude from the College of Business Administration at Northeastern University in Boston and attended Columbia University's MBA program in New York. Sylvia was a dedicated mother, wife, and grandmother. She was an extremely involved community member, serving in both Carlisle, MA and Groton, MA as a Town Assessor. Prior to that service, she managed a non-profit organization designed to assist Laotian refugees in Lowell, MA. Sylvia was devoted to numerous charitable organizations, was a tireless volunteer, and was elected to many civic boards in her lifetime. She was the mother of the late Thomas Matthew Sangiolo. Visiting hours at the Healy Funeral Home, 57 North Main St., WESTFORD on Friday, November 14th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 15th at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 North Main St., Westford at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Groton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6917 Arlington Rd., Suite 308, Bethesda, MD 20814. Funeral director J.A.
