Margaret F. Murphy

MURPHY, Margaret F. "Peggy" (Young) 69, of Peck Brothers Road, Monson, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, at home with her loving family at her side. Born in Boston to the late Edward and Florence (Merson) Young, she has been a resident of Monson since 1966. Peggy worked at Monson Developmental Center for many years before she returned to her primary job of loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid card player and belonged to the Monson Card Club and played pitch at the Hampden Senior Center. She leaves her loving husband of 48 years James S. Murphy and their children, Laurie Messina of East Windsor, CT, Susan Parker and her husband Gary of Ware, Elizabeth Bennet of Tucson, AZ and James S. Murphy, Jr of MA; five grandchildren; Adam, Melissa, Jason, Kristen, Trevor and 3 great grandchildren; Courtney, Aidyn and Owen. Peggy was predeceased by two grandchildren Jeremy and Jonathan. She also leaves he r two brothers William Young of South Carolina and Edward Young of Chelsea and two sisters Betty Cronk of New York and Christine Womendez of Boston as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Visiting hours will be held Monday, November 17, 2008 from 5-8pm at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11am in the funeral home with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery in Monson.
