Dear Hobson Family, I send my sympathy to all of you. I had lived with Mary and Nancy at the apartment in Medford. She was a remarkable woman. I remember her stories of traveling to the Boston Bruin games, how she wanted the best life for her family, how strict she was (even with me and I needed it), she helped me grow up and take responsibility, and she didn't take things like a good job or having food on the table for granted. Mary had a big heart that was full of love. There are so many things that I remember but I will share just one. The time your mother bought Mary the fur coat. When your mother went to look at the coat, the woman told her that she had bought the coat for her daughter and had her intials stitched inside. When your mother looked at them, she knew that the coat was meant for Mary, because they were Mary's intials MGH! I have always thought that was a great story of how God provided.
I think that everyone who knew Mary would say that after God, Family was the most important part of her life.
May the grace and peace of God give you strength and hope in the days ahead.
Catch my hug.
Sincerely,
Susan (Egan) Hallahan

Hi Mar, I will miss you very much! Life in our family will not be same. You were the glue that held us together. I will miss our weekly conversations, your famous "taco salads" and our friendship but most of all I will miss saying "see ya Mazie Doats" and you responding "okay Kathy Oats". I will always think of you when watching the Patriots and hear you saying "sack, fumble, interception" when the opposition has the ball. I know you are so happy where you are and saying to our family, "treasure each moment with each other as it may be the last" and "do not put off until tomorrow what you can do today". "To live life until its fullest" and "to honor God in all that you do". I can hear the Lord saying "well done good and faithful servant". YOU ARE WELL LOVED! Your sister, Katherine

Miss Mary(as we knew her) was a wonderful person!! We and my kids who had her for a teacher LOVED her!! She was kind, considerate, and merciful...SHE LOVED THE LORD. She was always through the years well thought of by me and my family...when we look at picutres of days past...they are with smiles and warmth. My regards to her family..but knowing that she is VERY HAPPY and not suffering..is our consolation...

I am so sorry to hear this news. I often thought of Mary....wondering where she lived, what she was doing and if she was enjoying her life .... it seems she did and made a difference in others as well. I did track her down at one point and called the number a few times, but got no answer. I am a childhood friend of Mary along with Barbara White and Linda Consolmagno. I remember many good times with my good friend Mary and her entire family. To this day I have no idea how all of you managed in that apartment..there was always action on Exchange Ave! Do you remember bible school night? Bob would pile all of us kids in that big green station wagon and off we would go for crafts, singing and religion. What fun we had in those good old days. Riding our bikes through the projects, playing marbles, hide and seek and putting on recitals. As I read each name in this notice I could see each one of you as you were in the late fifties. I am sure I wouldn't recognize you today. I was very surprised to see many of you living in NH as I do too! Joanne I believe you live very close to me and I would love for you to contact me.....603-432-4387
