Rita Igo Obituary

SISTER RITA IGO, CSJ (SISTER EVANGELIST) A beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston for 75 years, died Friday, November 14, 2008. Daughter of the late Bernard and Susan (O'Leary) Igo. Sister of the late Anna and Beatrice. Formerly missioned as a Principal at St. Joseph, Amesbury; as a teacher at Immaculate Conception, Everett; Walnut Park School, Newton; St. Ann and St. William, Dorchester; and St. Columbkille, Brighton. Visiting hours at Holy Spirit Chapel, Bethany Health Care Center, 97 Bethany Road, Framingham, Monday, November 17, 2008, 3:30-6:00 p.m. Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Mass. Prayers of Final Commendation at Bethany Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick. Arrangements by Norton Funeral Home, FRAMINGHAM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sisters of Saint Joseph, c/o Mission Advancement, 637 Cambridge St., Brighton, MA 02135.

Sr. Rita, you have been missed for many years now at I.C. but your wonderful quietness and fairness will live on. I remember how you use to get all the ladies to knit or crochet for the strawberry festival. My prayers and thoughts are with you and the sisters of St. Joseph.
