Angel Betty! I give you, and your family my greatest condolences!!!
Every time I had the opportunity to sit with you, you put a smile upon my face, as well as laughter. Thank you! I will always remember the smiles my daughter, and you had shared with each other, also! Seeing you light-up her precious little face was heavenly gorgeous! Now that's a memory!!!

Dear Family of Beautiful Betty, I am so sorry for your loss and the loss to those of us who knew Betty. I had the honor of getting to know Betty through my work in South Boston. She was a tremendous encouragement and such a blessing to me. What a beautiful heart she had...so unselfish...so giving...so loving. Her kind words, cards and thoughtfulness will never ever be forgotten. I loved her laugh and will remember her smile and beautiful spirit always! I pray that the very spirit of Betty will continue to be a blessing to all of you and fill you with light whenever your heart is saddened.

Dear Betty Boop, You made bowling so much fun. My mother and I looked forward to bowling and the bowling parties because we knew that if you would be there our sides would be hurting from laughing so much. God took a great woman from us and she will be sorely missed my thoughts and prayers go out to Ginny and Joe and the rest of the Sweeney family.

I will never forget the first time I met Betty, some 30+ years ago. She was cooking two roast beefs (to please everyone's taste) and washing the floor. I only wish that I had as much ambition.

I have always looked forward to seeing her at parties and holidays (she always made me laugh) and I consider her a part of my family. I will miss her.

My thoughts and prayers are with her entire family at this difficult time.

To the Sweeney Family:
My sympathies on the loss of your Mom!
I lived on M Street above you for a few years, and in that time I'm sure I gained about 20 pounds due to Betty's cooking. Betty would meet me at the door at night with huge dinners. And believe me when I say she made THE BEST Italian subs anywhere. In fact she just rang my doorbell a few weeks ago with 2 of them for me. She was one of the best! She's happy now with your Dad though!

To Joe and the Sweeney family, my condolences for the passing of your mom. My mother used to come home from some event where all her friends were at and she'd be laughing to herself. I'd ask her what was so funny and it was always the same answer, "That Betty Sweeney is a riot!" Betty was always good to my sisters who lived above her on M street and to my nephew Brian who she treated like her own grandson. May she rest in peace.

Mike, Val and family,

My deepest sympathies for your loss. Betty was a wonderful woman and will not be forgotten.

Through the years, my mom always told me of times that she met Betty and the funny stories that she was always telling.

I always think of this when I’m missing my Nana Gorham:

Cherish the wonderful memories of your mom, and carry them close to your heart, allow them to soften the moments whenever you feel the tears start…

During the times when you’re lonely, let the sweet memories of your mom surround you and give you the strength to go on…

Death may have taken your mom, but never the joy that you knew – so cherish your wonderful memories and feel them embracing you.
