Therese Quinn Obituary

QUINN, Thérèse Rita (Potvin) Wife of Dr. Thomas W. Quinn, formerly of Milton and Quincy MA. Mother of four, friend, wise counselor, great beauty. An elegant dresser and a lady to the core. Soft spoken, gracious, graceful, and generous. She loved gardens, flowers, chocolate, puzzles, dancing, laughing and flirting. A sensitive and compassionate listener with a mischievous sense of humor, she was a master of movie trivia, and she always knew who was on the other end of the phone before it rang. She adored her husband, Tom. Thérèse Potvin was born in Southbridge, MA. The daughter of Maria (DeManche) and Francis Xavier Potvin. She graduated from Mary E. Wells High School, studied radiology at Philadelphia General Hospital, and worked as a radiology technician in hospitals in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Thérèse worked for thirteen years at Maude H. Trefethen School in New Castle, NH helping a generation of children to read. She received the "Greater Piscataqua Volunteer Award" for her efforts in molding young, budding minds. Not only was she generous with her time to others but also she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. As a mother she nurtured teachers, thinkers, singers, dancers, writers, philosophers, and entrepreneurs. She was loved deeply and is missed greatly. She was our Tess. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 10 AM in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton, NH.
