Ann Lebrun Obituary

LEBRUN, Ann 70, of Methuen, died peacefully after a brief illness Monday November 24, 2008 at home with her family by her side. Ann was born in Lawrence on July 12, 1938; the daughter of William and Florence Bourgeois. Ann dedicated her energy to raising her two loving sons, David and Mark. Ann worked as an office manager in the construction industry including Methuen Construction and Albanese Brothers. Ann's devotion, passion and faith brought her naturally into leadership and she had a strong dedication to all she believed; Faith United Methodist Church and then Christ United Methodist Church in Lawrence. In support to her husband of 52 years, Ann was a leader of the National Dystonia Foundation Support Groups. Ann's strong faith at her church naturally lead to co-founding the Children's Center in Methuen, eventually to become an integral member of the Board of Directors at the Children's Center. From her artistic side, Ann was an avid and talented quilter. She, again, used her drive, passion and natural leadership to help support her interests in the church and the Children's Center with her own quilts and organizing community quilting to benefit those in need. Ann also loved to travel and see new places such as cruising down the Mississippi River aboard the Delta Queen, a famous cruising paddle boat. Ann is survived by her loving husband Bob, her eldest son and daughter-in-law David and Joanne of Newburyport, MA and youngest son and daughter-in-law Mark and Jan of Lowell, MA; her brother and sister-in-law Frederick and Margaret Bourgeois and son Jonathan, all of Chelmsford, MA, and her adored grandchildren Andrew, Karen and Sean. Ann was survived by many loving friends and was admired by all those she touched. She was a mother to a large extended family; everyone was welcome as family in her home. Services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 11AM at the Christ United Methodist Church at 207 Haverhill Street in Lawrence. A lunch reception will follow in the Church Reception Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to the Children's Center at 37 Lowell Street, Methuen, MA 01844 or call 978-685-6469. To Ann's Family

Ann and I have been quilting at the Red Barn for more years than I can remember, she was a dear friend. We all enjoyed her many stories about all of you, which she told with love, joy and great admiration.

Ann will be deeply missed at UFQ, and no one will be able to fill her seat.

With my deepest sympathy for your loss, and in fact the loss to us all!!!!

A Very Heart Felt Thank You to a women who took her granddaughter and guided her to become the woman she is today. I never got to say thank you Ann, but I am sure you know that I appreciated all the things you and Bob did for Karen. She is a better person because of you.

With an open heart, you also took in Jenn & Tracy as if they were your own grandchildren and also their sons. You were so good to them all.

We shall all have an empty spot in our hearts.
