Dear Mrs. Dickerson,
My family and I are so saddened to hear about the passing of your husband. (I just found out today (2/19/09). Mr. Dickerson was such a pleasant person, I remember the last time that we were in the company of one another, sadly to say that it was in a Boston Courtroom, Mr. Dickerson with Craig and I with Karvel. As we sat waiting patiently, I use to tell him these stories about Craig & Karvel, oh did we both get such a chuckle from them. I want the family to know that it was a pleasure to know of Mr. Dickerson. And I also want to let you know that I am truly sorry for your loss, may God Bless you and your Family.

Mrs Dickerson & Family:

I just heard of Aundrea' death. I am so very, very sorry. I had the good fortune of interviewing Aundrea for his first postion at EOCD over 20 years ago....and I remember thinking that we would be the lucky ones if he worked for us. He was truly an asset, but more importantly, he was a really good guy. He was personable, low key and did his job without complaint or gossip. What I specifically remember is that he spoke so highly of his wife and family....he was definitely the kind of guy that you'd want your brother or son to be like. He will truly be remembered - God bless you all & your beautiful memories.

Hazel,
As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. Aundrea was a pleasure to work with. When we gave him his plaque "gone fishing" we knew then how special he was to us at DHCD.

Francine Hardy

Aundrea was a unique person. Whenever we ran into each other we'd always end up talking about the good ole days at EOCD/DHCD. He was always upbeat even in those off beat moments. He was always ready to assist or offer assistance. If you needed a calming moment, Aundrea was there to provide it. Yes, Aundrea will be missed and he will be remembered.

I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Aundrea's passing. I have had the honor of knowing him since his early days at DHCD. He had a warm smile and caring heart, and he was a heck of a lot of fun to be around. He always called me "Sharoon" and made me laugh. I will never forget him.

There are countless people still at DHCD that remember Aundrea as a gentleman, who was always ready to help you with a smile. I'm deeply saddened to hear he's left us, even more because I lost my Dad, also a veteran, on Dec. 8. We are all thinking about him and his family. He set the standard for all of us.

Hello Hazel and Family, I just got word and I don't even know where to begin. He is a true friend that will be missed. I just told my daughters twin daughters because they would always want to visit Aundrea in the print room.

He made them scrap books every time they would visit and they called him dollar man.
My heart goes out to you all. You have my blessings through these trying times.

Dear Hazel and Family,
I am truly saddened to hear of your loss. Aundrea was a wonderful and respectable person. I worked with him at DHCD. When first introduced to Aundrea, I can remember him frying fish in his work area, the print shop as we knew it. He always made us laugh, always spoke of his family and had a story to share. Over time he came up with a nickname for me, Little Grasshopper. So I started calling him, Old Wise One. You will be in my prayers, God Bless.

Andre was a true gentleman and Gentle Man. He was a caring and good friend to everyone. The whole agency was saddened when he left us. It was always a pleasure to meet him later on the subway and share a hug and hear about his kids. Your family had a truly wonderful husband, father and grandfather and we were fortunate to have him as a friend. Joan Donaghue

I worked with Aundrea for over 10 years at DHCD. He always had a smile on his face and never refused a request for help. Our paths crossed because of Teddy and Oliver. Our early morning walks were brighter on the days we ran into you, Aundrea, with your kind smiles and words.
You told me of your wife, your boys, and your granddaughter as our dogs played their dog games.
Your love for them is bigger than life.
So, Hazel, Oliver and I are here, touched by that love and ready to help in any way we can.
Aundrea, we are thankful for having run into you a few years ago and will always hear your laugh as we walk along Brookline avenue.
Rest in peace!

Remember all the New Years the four of us rang in together on the dance floor? Great memories to treasure forever. Hazel, Aundrea will be sorely missed. Rafael and I will remain here for you and the wonderful young men you and Aundrea have raised. We are but a few steps away...

Over the years I have met and worked with scores of kind and wonderful people at the Department of Education. And I can say without any doubt that Aundrea is among the most unforgettable and remarkable ones. From Aundrea it was never a frown, but always a smile. He always had a kind word, or joke to share. He could even light up a crowded elevator on a dreary Monday morning with his humor or one of his wise sayings. He was just as jolly on a Monday morning as he was on a Friday afternoon. He was blessed with a kind heart, profound wisdom, and a deep rich baritone voice. I will always remember Aundrea as a friend, a brother, and fellow Alabamian. I will remember how he would light up when he talked about the joy of his life, his wife, sons, and grandchildren, especially his granddaughter. We have truly lost a prince and an exemplary credit to the human race.

Aundrea will be missed by all of DOE, his job required him to be on all floors of DOE so, most of us got a chance to meet him at one time or another. He always had a smile tucked away no matter what the circumstances. He was a very nice man.

Aundrea was a good friend and co-worker. I could always count on him to bring a smile to my face and make a dark day bright. Thank you for always keeping me laughing.

I'm sorry for your loss Hazel, Aundrea was not just a co-worker to me, but a friend and a father. I learned alot from him thru the ups and downs and I always had respect for him. I felt like I knew him all my life. I hate the fact that he's gone but I love the fact that he was a part of my life. God Bless you. He would always be someone I will tell my children about. My deepest sympathies

Aundrea was the nicest guy you could meet. He was always joking and laughing with everyone. I could always hear his infamous laugh from miles away. He will be sorely missed by all.

Aundrea was a pleasure to work with, he was always smiling and had a funny story or two to tell us to make our work day brighter. Our Operations Unit will never be the same without him. I will never forget him and I'm thankful I got the chance to know him.
