Louise Pacht Obituary

PACHT, Louise T. (Fitzgerald) 76, of Belmont, Massachusetts, passed away Saturday, (November 29, 2008) at Mount Auburn Hospital. She was the beloved mother of Susan Giordano and her husband Mark of Belmont and the adored Nana of Jeffrey Warner and his fiancée, Elizabeth Mann of New York City, Nicole Vittiglio and her husband, Matthew of Stoneham, Michael Warner and Steven Warner, both of Watertown. Louise was born in Boston and raised in Belmont, MA, the daughter of the late George and Anele Fitzgerald. She was predeceased by her brothers John Fitzgerald, George Fitzgerald, and Bob Pasakanas. She is survived by her sister Pauline Reynolds and her husband Bill, and her sisters-in-law, Patricia Fitzgerald and Charlene Fitzgerald. She was a loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Louise also leaves great friends, including Joan O'Connor and Barbara Dillon. She was predeceased by her closest friend Eleanor "Ozzie" Dillon and her dearest aunt Helen Davis. Louise was a graduate of Mount Trinity Academy in Watertown and of Leslie College. She was a first grade teacher for many years, and then became a remedial reading teacher. She first taught in the Stowe Public Schools and then the Medford Public Schools. Louise's greatest love was the love she had for her family, especially her four grandchildren and her dog "Fenway". Louise is best known by all who know and love her as "Nana 4". Funeral from the Stanton Funeral Home, 786 Mount Auburn St., (Route 16), WATERTOWN on Thursday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, 770 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown at 10:30 A.M. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday, 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions, in honor of her love for animals, may be made in Louise's name to the MSPCA-Angell, Attn: Donations, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130 or in honor of her devout Catholic faith and love for the blessed mother to Catholic Charities - Archdiocese of Boston, 5 Kneeland Street, Boston, MA 02111. Louise will always be remembered for her love of teaching. I had the pleasure of working next door to the funny first grade teacher at the Dame School. She was my first mentor. I'm glad to hear that Louise had such a loving family to be with after leaving the Dames.
