Mr. White,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USAF during the Korean War. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Marcia, Doug, Todd and Kyle,

Although there were certainly other moments that we shared my most memorable of Dick will always be the ones on the soccer field. All the way back to the Thistle days when he helped Bill and my dad coach us, to Mario biting his finger at BU and to all those other soccer games he was on the sideline for...Including 3 weeks ago at Memorial for our semi-final match, I always enjoyed going up to speak with him even in the middle of a game, he always kept things very “real”. Needham Soccer will always be grateful for his support. I will miss him.

Dear White Family:

I was so very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. White. Your entire family is in my thoughts and prayers. May you all find comfort in the coming days knowing what a great husband, father, and grandfather he was, and the profound impact he made on so many lives. He led by example; with deeds not words.

I will always remember the many games we kids played at your Needham home on Melrose Ave., Mr. White always there to encourage or teach. He was the reason a little kid like me, even attempted soccer and I will always remember him as a coach in sport, but most importantly in the lessons of life.

The memories of the many times sitting in your home and talking sports, be it the Sox, Pats or local NHS sports are fresh in my mind today. They bring both a tear to my eye and a smile to my face.

Please know many of the lessons he taught, have been passed on to my children, and so many I have coached as well.

May God Bless you in the days ahead and give you comfort.

Marcia, Doug, Todd, and Kyle,
My memory of Dick is as coach. First with Little League and then junior soccer. His name is along side all the other great names in Needham soccer.
God Bless Him
