PURINGTON, Ruth M. (McGowan) Of Stoneham, December 7, 2008 at age 80. Beloved wife of the late Newell W. Purington and Alfred H. Shepherd. Devoted mother of Kenneth Purington and his wife Kristina of Reading, Allan Purington and his wife Kathleen of Stoneham, Anne Bardelli and her husband David of Bradford and the late Mary and Robert Purington. Cherished grandmother of Jeremy, Jessica, Alyssa, Andrew, Krissta and Tessa. Loving great grandmother of Halie and Joseph. Dear sister of Donald McGowan, Frances Altavesta, Barbara McManus, all of Woburn, Isabelle Nix of FL. Daughter of the late Francis and Mary (MacPherson) McGowan. Sister in law of Robert Purington of Woburn. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT.28) STONEHAM Thursday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Ruth's life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
