PURINGTON, Ruth M. (McGowan) Of Stoneham, December 7, 2008 at age 80. Beloved wife of the late Newell W. Purington and Alfred H. Shepherd. Devoted mother of Kenneth Purington and his wife Kristina of Reading, Allan Purington and his wife Kathleen of Stoneham, Anne Bardelli and her husband David of Bradford and the late Mary and Robert Purington. Cherished grandmother of Jeremy, Jessica, Alyssa, Andrew, Krissta and Tessa. Loving great grandmother of Halie and Joseph. Dear sister of Donald McGowan, Frances Altavesta, Barbara McManus, all of Woburn, Isabelle Nix of FL. Daughter of the late Francis and Mary (MacPherson) McGowan. Sister in law of Robert Purington of Woburn. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
