F. Gibson Obituary

GIBSON, F. Warren Age 73, of Shrewsbury passed away Sunday, December 7, 2008 in the University of Massachusetts Hospital surrounded by family after being stricken ill earlier. Warren's wife of 41 years M. Patricia (McWhirter) Gibson passed away March 18th. Warren is survived by his two devoted children, Kathryn Gibson-Torres and her husband Luis of Shrewsbury. Paul A. Gibson and his wife Lisa of North Dartmouth; five cherished grandchildren, Alysa, Mayia, Andres, Ella and Will. Two brothers, Edwin Gibson and his wife Jane; William H. Gibson and his wife Jane all of Paris, Maine; a sister, Joan G. Wheeler and her husband Glen of McKenny, Texas; many nieces and nephews. Warren was born in Portland, Maine a son of Leslie and Annette (Stearns) Gibson. He graduated from West Paris High School, and earned his Bachelors degree from Bowdoin College in 1960, and served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962. He then graduated from Williams College school of Banking. Warren and Patricia lived and raised their family in Milton, MA most of their life before moving to Shrewsbury seven years ago. Warren worked inn the banking industry all his life. He was a banker for several banking firms in Maine and Massachusetts before retiring from Boston 5 cent savings bank. Warren was a simple man who enjoyed the company of his family especially his grandchildren. They were his joy. The funeral will be held Friday, December 12th from the Mercandante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., WORCESTER, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross St. Burial in Mt View Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, December 11th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
