John, Shavaun, and Colin. You have my deepest sympathies on the loss of your mother, and a very kind person, who was very nice to me over the years. I just found out about her passing today, and I am very sorry for not being able to attend the wake, or funeral. Again, you have my sincere condolences.

Joan was a dear friend who called often and for decades about Vietnam War Memorial Park and High Rock development. She supported me as the Ward 6 City councillor in 1970. Joan was a wonderful social activist in the best sense.
Her family can be proud of a life well spent. We will all miss her.
