I knew Jordan as Yordanos in Jimma Ethiopia in 1960, where his late brother Isaac and I were colegues in the then State Bank of Ethiopia. The memory I have of him is a kindly and cheerfull person who lightened hearts with laughters. Every now and then I had news of the progress he made, and I had hope to meet him some day.
Alas, this was not going to be.
With deepest sorrow my condolence to his family, his sister Tsghereda and brother Ghideon.
May his soul rest in peace.
Mehari Isaac.

Please accept my deepest sympathy. The first time I met Dr Jordan was at the Horn of Africa conference in New York in the late 80th defending Eritrea?s right for self determination.

My life for the last 40 years has been so much better and greater for having Jordan such a large part of it. I am as grateful as I am sad, and I know the world is a better place for all the ways that Jordan made a difference. I already miss him but will never forget him, and I offer my respect and sympathy to his family.

I am saddened by your loss. You were one of the inspiring Eritrean scholars. At the time of hardship that our youths are looking through, you and your kinds are the guiding stars we look upon for inspiration. You are gone, but you work endures. May you rest in peace and may God bring peace and comfort to your dear ones.
