William Foley Obituary

FOLEY, William Henry 87, of Waltham, died December 10, 2008 at home with his family at his side. Mr. Foley was born April 28, 1921 in Boston, MA, the son of the late William & Anna Foley. In 1942 Mr. Foley enlisted in the United States Army. He fought in Europe during WWII where he was awarded the bronze star. Following the war Mr. Foley returned to MA and his job with First National Supermarkets, retiring in 1986 after 50 years of service. In 1948 he married Mary Theresa Hughes of Belmont MA and raised six daughters. Mr. Foley is survived by his wife Mary of 60 years. He was father to Mary Morgan of Virginia Beach, VA; Deborah Connolly, wife of the late Thomas Connolly, of Tierra Verde, FL, Tricia Unger, wife of Norb Unger, of Lexington, Anne Marie Foley of Belmont, Paula Foley of Watertown, & the late Jeanne McKiernan of Belmont,. He is also survived by his grandchildren Patrick, Katie, Heather, Hannah, Alexandra, Brendan, Kendall, Taylor and Abbie along with his great granddaughter Emma and brother Joseph Foley of West Roxbury, MA. Mr. Foley,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
