Mr. Pollins,
Sir, as a fellow Marine I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USMC during WW II. It was the history and accomplishments made by you and your fellow Marines back then that all of us Marines who followed in your footsteps have always tried to live up to. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

I will forever miss my Papa Perry. I couldn't ask for a better grandfather. He was always very supportive with whatever activity we embarked upon and he was always showing his love for us. He couldn't make it through a day without laughing and that was one of the many characteristics I admired about him. I will miss his stories about the Marine Corps and his experience in WW II but his stories will live on in us :-) I will mostly miss being able to see him and spend time with him; he is hands down the cutest and sweetest Papa ever!!! I LOVE YOU PAPA!

I've known Perry since we were in night school at Lincoln Tech back in in 1947. He was always a gentleman and a quality person, and of course, a U.S. Marine. This world needs more people like Perry!
We will miss him.

Semper Fi, old friend.

I enjoyed reading perry's letters and I enjoyed working with him years ago on the Lexington Republican Town Committee. A great man. A great mind. I regret his passing and offer the family my sincere sympathy.
