MARTELL, Dorothy Elizabeth "Dodo" Of Laguna Niguel, CA, passed away peacefully on December 12th at the age of 96. She was born in Bangor, Maine on March 23, 1912, to Daniel Patrick Hurley and Winifred (McDonough). Beloved wife of the late Charles R. Martell. Loving mother of Diana (Tim) Clark of Pasadena, CA, Daniel Martell of Chevy Chase, MD, John (Stephanie) Martell of Raleigh, NC, and Charles (Leyla) Martell of Sacramento, CA. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Pamela (Lee) Armus, John Jr. and Marjorie Martell, Bethany and Carrie Martell, and Ryan and Jennifer Martell. Dorothy has three great-grandchildren. Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother will be greatly missed. Each of us will remember her loving heart and beautiful smile that warmed us as children and shared in our achievements as we aged. Dorothy and her husband, Charles, retired to CA from Newton, MA in 1974. She was an avid bridge player until her late 80's. Dorothy was an active parishioner at Saint Mary's Episcopal Church in Laguna Beach, CA, where she was a president of the Women's Guild and long-time treasurer of the Vestry.
