Caroline and I were deeply saddened to hear of Johnnie's passing earlier this month. We have fond memories of a loyal friend who was so much fun to be around. He was a generous and caring man who gave mightily to the children of St. Ann's parish and his neighborhood. He was always ready to help anyone of us in need. Dear Joan, Ricky,Jill, Jennifer and all your family, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Mrs. Johnson and family,
My family and I want to let you know how saddened we were to hear of Mr. Johnson's (Johnny's) death. I saw him at Mrs. Harrington's 75th Birthday a few years ago. I am so glad that I got to see him and spend a few minutes with him. He was such a genuine and kind man. He made growing up on Spaulding Street very memorable.
Fondly,
Mary Ellen Quirk and family.

To the Johnson Family
I was saddened with the passing of John. I was also happy to have known him and your family. He was there for me when I needed someone, gave me a job and more importantly advice, some spoken and some taught. I will always remember him and what he did for me.

Spaulding Street was such a special place to grow up in the 60's and 70's...
One of the big reasons was "Mr. Johnson" and the Johnson Family...
We'll never forget those 4th of July Block parties and the long Sunday trips to the "Cape" and Welcome Farm Ice Cream...
it was really only Carver and Weymouth..
Mr. Johnson just made us kids think it was the Cape and a place far away from Dorchester...

The Harrington's across the street would always view Johnny as the "cool Dad" on the street. He was the guy with a T-Bird with 8 track player and leather seats...
Johnny in many ways showed us to be a dedicated father, husband and all around great neighbor..
Our prayers and thoughts are with you..

To Joan, Ricky, Jill, Jennifer & families. We were sad to hear about John's passing. He was a good neighbor, friend and cubmaster who dedicated many years to the boys in Dorchester. He taught many of us how to waterski, how to swim, and how to be a good person. The corner of Adams and Neponset will always be Johnnys Exxon to many so we'll always think of him when we pass by.

Joan and family, so sorry to hear of your loss of Johnny, but allI can think of is all the good things about John, all the work he did at Cub Scouts, for a lot of us and our kids, the time he let all the kids paint the dumpster and saying how it was the best looking one ever. One day at the sta. (he was having a bad day)
and I called him a grumpy old b____, like me, we both laughed. I hear all aroound Neponset that we lost a good friend. May God Bless you and your family

To the Johnson Family,
My family and I are saddened to hear about Johnny. I have such wonderful memories of him as a wise cracking and sweet neighbor who lived on our street, Spaulding Street. He was always smiling and never hesitated to lend a hand to his neighbors, friends and customers. He will be greatly missed. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
