WELCH, Mary Alice (Downing) Age 95, of Millis, Dec. 12, 2008. Wife of the late Frederick J. Welch. Loving mother of William F. Welch and his wife Maureen of Milford and John D. Welch and his wife Kathleen of Hudson, FL. Sister of Agnes E. Lydon of Millis, Ann L. Holmquist of Mashpee, Alma Mulkern of Norwood and the late Rita Gately, Eileen McCarthy, John T. and Richard J. Downing Jr. Also survived by 5 grand and 4 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 82 Exchange St., Millis on Tues., Dec. 16th at 10AM. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Millis. Visitation at the Roberts-Mitchell Funeral Home, 90 Curve St., MILLIS, Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary's memory may be made to Millis Boosters Club, Attn: Paul Lebel, P.O. Box 342, Millis, MA 02054. Mrs. Welch was a truly great teacher. She inspired so many of us to learn, to listen, to love reading and poetry. May peace be with her family during this time of parting.
