Peter Burke Obituary

BURKE, Peter In Franklin, Dec. 13, formerly of West Roxbury and Ironpool, Co. Galway, Ireland. Beloved husband of the late Katherine (Madden). Loving father of John and his wife Margaret, Mary Cody and her husband Shawn, Karen Thorn and her husband Richard, brother of James and Anthony Burke both of Co. Galway, Ireland. Also survived by 7 grandchildren. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY, Wednesday, Dec., 17, at 9 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in the Holy Name Church at 10 o'clock. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 pm. Relatives and friends invited. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery. Peter approached every aspect of his life with unwavering enthusiasm, and will always be remembered as someone who excelled at working with his hands. In lieu of flowers a Scholarship fund has been established through Dean Bank to benefit a deserving student who is pursuing a career that involves working with their hands. Our family was so saddened to learn of the passing of your Dad.
I will always remember him as someone who was always there for us to help fix whatever broke.....If Mr. Burke couldn't fix it we threw it away.
