Darren my friend, I know it has been many, many years since you have passed but I just wanted to write and let you know I still think about you often. I only knew you for a few years but we started becoming great friends. I often wonder how much more our friendship would continue to grow if you were still here. Although we were only friends for a few years you had a big impact on my life and I ended up naming my son Darren after you. Although you were already gone he was all smiles when he got to meet You. Darren, you are still missed greatly. Rest in Peace bud

To Darren's family,

Matt and I have spoken of Darren often. We have found ourselves at events where he would have been and he was thought of and missed. We have gone places that we would have gone with him and he is always in our thoughts and conversations. This past year has surely been the toughest in each of your lives. I hope that you have found solace in knowing how many lives your son has touched, how much respect people had for him, and how much so many of us truly loved him.

We pray that you have some peace on this anniversary.

Much Love,

Joanne and Matt Walsh

Darren,
It has been a month since you have gone; it has been a month without you, and I still cannot believe it. This has been the biggest challenge of my life and sometimes I don’t know how to get thru it, but I try to think in your beautiful smile to bright my days in this difficult time.

Thank you for making me part of your life, thank you for sharing the wonderful adventures of your life with me, and for teaching me that people come and go to your life, but it only takes one to make a difference in it.

Now I know why the star you picked look shinier than ever, and is because you are looking down upon us. You are and will always be missed for every one that loves you in this world.

Love you...

I had the pleasure of knowing Darren from various different circles. He clearly had and continues to have a tremendous affect on the people who have been priveleged to know him. He and others often spoke of the amazing family that he has. He was a proud son and brother, and you should be proud of the man that he was. He will be greatly missed by many!

Dearest Mr. & Mrs. Mercurio, Danielle and Liam,

We both were very lucky to have Darren as our friend. He was sweet, funny, kind, considerate, and sensitive. We had dinner many times in our home and he enjoyed it so much. He would always ask what he could bring, help cook (he made great steamers!), set the table, and clean up. He made sure he came over to meet our new daughter soon after she was born. Many conversations were about how what he really wanted was to get married and have children of his own.

He was always working hard because he wanted to be assured that he would provide a “good life” for himself and the family he hoped to have. He loved his family and the life you all had with him. He just wanted to add to that. He spoke often of advice you had given him and how much he respected your opinions and guidance.

It has been very difficult to comprehend that we will never see his beautiful smile again, laugh with him, enjoy his company, or have another conversation about where his life is headed. We wanted you to know just how much we cherished him, he was really one of our very favorite people. You raised a wonderful son. He will be missed every day. May the years of wonderful memories be of comfort to your family, because even now the thought of him makes us smile. We are so sorry for your loss.

Sincerely yours,

Shawn + Brad Murphy

My condolences to the Mercurio family. My heart just aches thinking about your loss. I wish I could do something, anything, that would ease your pain. Darren was a good friend and a wonderful human being. I will never forget his kindness, warmth, his gigantic smile, and his ability to make me laugh. I consider myself blessed to have had him in my life. I know that everyone who had that same privilege could never possibly forget him. Simply put, Darren was awesome.

When I think of Darren I smile because he was always smiling. I got the honor to work with your son at Finz and we spent many hours at work filling it with laughter. Darren could light up a room with his smile. I will miss him greatly! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

If we could bring you back again,
For one more hour or day,
We’d express all our unspoken love;
We’d have countless things to say.

If we could bring you back again,
We’d say we treasured you,
And that your presence in our lives
Meant more than we ever knew.

If we could bring you back again,
To tell you what we should,
You’d know how much we miss you now,
And if we could, we would.

Darren...we are going to miss you so much. Wrap your angel wings around your family, they need you right now more than ever.

Love,
Erin

This is one of the hardest moments of my life. Darren was a great person with a big heart. I thank God that gave me the opportunity to met him, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. There is nothing i can say to his family to ease their pain, just that Darren love you all very much.

Darren, we both know this, i love you with all my heart, and i will always do.
