Janis Gillham

54 died September 19, 2007 at her home in Newton. Ms. Gillham was former Managing Partner and Director of Interior Architecture at CBT/Childs, Bertman and Tseckares. Ms. Gillham's work included corporate interior projects from major Boston Law Offices and Financial Service Firms. Her clients included Brown, Rudnick; Goulston & Storrs;, Palmer & Dodge; Deloitte Consulting;, Bain Capital, Keystone Investments and many others. She contributed articles on Corporate Interiors to the New England R.E. Journal, Interior Design Magazine and Bankers & Tradesman. Ms Gillham was born in Philadelphia, Pa. where she later attended the University of Pennsylvania. During her time there she worked for a social activist group in the inner city fighting poverty and providing low cost architectural services. She went on to receive her Architectural degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design where she was one of only six women in her class. Retiring from CBT in 2002 Ms. Gillham relocated to the Berkshires where she helped to start a non profit organization called "Share the Bounty" an organization aimed at saving family farms and open space while feeding local families with farm fresh food. She leaves her husband of 26 years, Oliver Gillham, her mother Selma Mones, her sister Andrea Mones, her brother Richard and 3 nieces and nephews. A private graveside service is planned.
