Mr. Higgins,
Sir, I didn't know you, but as a fellow Marine I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USMC in WW II with the 4th Marine Division at Iwo Jima. It was the history and accomplishments made by you and your fellow Marines in WW II that all of us Marines who have followed in your footsteps have always tried to live up to.And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Semper Fi Marine Higgins
The Dept. of Ma. Marine Corp League thanks you for your service to God, our Country, and to our beloved Corp.
To Joseph's family we send our sympathies and our prayers on your loss and the loss of our Brother. Joseph was a hero of the Greatest Generation and his actions paved the way for all Marines to emulate. He has now reported for his final assignment with our Supreme Commandant where he will serve with the same valor, and honor as he had on this earth. May God bless you and be at your side as you go forward without Joseph's earthly being, but with his spirit at your side always.
