Robert Benway Obituary

Age 69, died peacefully at home on September 29, 2007. Born in Somerville, MA, he was the son of the late Frederick and Edna (McCloskey) Benway. Former husband of Mary R. (Adams) Benway of Bellingham, MA, and loving father of Jennifer L. Benway of Holliston, MA. Devoted grandfather of Nathaniel Benway and Dillon Keough. Brother of Edna O'Brien of Braintree, MA, Arlene Feeley of Nashua, NH, Joan Bretta of Stoneham, MA, Barbara Barry of Hull, MA. Resident of Bellingham since 1973 and formerly of Brockton, MA and Selma, NC. He worked for New England Telephone out of the Marlboro, MA office as the Staff Manager-Human Resources Information Technology Support for over 30 years till retiring in 1994. After retiring he worked as Technology support for Apple Computers in Franklin Schools till retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Pioneer Telephone Workers. He was well known for his sense of humor. He was an Air Force Veteran serving for 10 years post Korean War and during Vietnam War. Funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St., BELLINGHAM, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Brendan's Church, Hartford Ave., Bellingham. Interment VA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA, at 12:45 p.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Cartier's Funeral Home Bellingham, MA 508-883-8383
