Hi Charlie.
It's been along time since I wrote to talk to you. I hope they are treating you as good upstairs as you were treated here. Everyone still misses you as much as if it were the day you passed on to a new world. Everyone is trying to be as happy as you would have wanted us to be. I can still remember the smile you shared with everyone you touch and how happy you made everyone. I think that's what keeps everyone going. Just remembering how you smiled on everyone. Well we will keep remembering that smile and continue on remembering what a great MAN you were.

Hi Charlie. I guess this will be the last time I write you in this book. That's ok because I have you in my heart forever and I can talk to you whenever I want, I know your listening. I have so many memories of you and all of us dancing and having the time of our lives. I miss you more than words can say. I know one day I will see you again. reserve my table up in heaven. Mi Primo. Mi Tio. You have been such a great influence in my behavior and my treatment of others. I have so many memories of my conversations with you. I have learned so much from you. Charlie, you are sorely missed.
I wanted my children to meet you, but I especially wanted my son to meet you for he shares your name. Marcelino knew he was named after some great men in our family and I wanted him to know how beautiful a person you are.
I have written in present tense because I just missed being able to say these things to you in person by just a few days. Thankfully, I was able to speak to you after the service, and it helped me to say goodbye.

Charlie, I can't believe their tearing your place down. I guess it will be any day now, they have a big fence around the building. Stella and Noelle,
I was shocked and saddenned to hear of Charlie's passing. I got to know him in the late 80's-early 90's through my boyfriend Jay at the time. Jay, myself, Sam, Mary, Tommy, Bobby and Crazy Al would hang out there and exchange stories. He gave me a job when I needed it and always looked out for us "little ones". He used to tell me about his beautiful wife and daughter. We used to talk about riding lessons since I also worked at Sunset Stables at the time. When I had a daughter of my own I gave him a picture of what he used to call his "Adopted" granddaughter. I am sorry to say that I had not seen him in years and lost touch when I married and moved to Fall River with my husband. Charlie would've liked him. He was a great man with a big heart, a love of life and the world is much less bright without him in it.

Dear Charlie,
When I heard that you had passed away a piece of me died inside. I always tried to make myself believe you was gonna be o.k, but deep down I knew you was gonna leave us soon. You made Charlie's a second home for many of us. We had to stop by, even if it was just to say hi. You made us a family. We are lost without you. I cant believe we will never see you again. As we sat outside the bar for four nights we cried, we laughed, its just so hard to let go all we have is our memories ( great memories) of you at Charlie's we had so many good times with you and it will never be the same without you. Dear Charlie,
I remember the first time I walked into Charlie's Tavern. I did not like the place at all. I would stay a few minutes with the girls and leave. After going several times I got to know the kind of person you were and that's the reason I kept coming back weekend after weekend. I have met so many people at Charlie's. Some I just know but, some I really got close to and love.
Charlie you were one of the ones I got close to and loved dearly. You were one of the sweetest, kindest, most caring person I've ever met in my life. There will never be another Charlie.
Your wife and daughter are the luckiest women in the world to have had you in their lives for so long. May GOD bless them everyday.
I remember when I worked for you as a bartender. I would get so nervous when you were behind the bar or sitting at the bar, I would tell you to go sit at a table and play cards, you would ask me WHY? and I'd say your making me nervous, you would laugh at me and go to the table. I also remember sharing my deepest pain with you. You hugged me and said everything happens for a reason, everything will be o.k and it was.
I thank GOD I got to meet you 12 years ago and know the kind of person you were.
GOD needed an angel in heaven and he got one of the best angels he will ever have.
I will miss you always. You were the best ever. There will never be another Charlie, and whatever happens to Charlie's Tavern, it will never be the same without you.
