Ruth Hulsey Obituary

92, of 21 Bristol Court, died Sunday morning at her residence. She was born in Waltham, MA on March 12, 1915, the daughter of George and Hannah (McNutt) Pomfret. She grew up in Reading, MA and graduated from Reading High School. Ruth was previously married to Lewis Pierce, who pre-deceased her in 1990. On December 29, 1994, she married Oliver Kelley Hulsey in Gorham, ME. For many years, she was a secretary for American Mutual Insurance Company. Later in life, she provided care for her father-in-law and later for her first husband. Ruth was a gifted painter, especially in watercolors. She was an incredibly gentle, kind, loving and intelligent person. She had a wonderful sense of humor with the timing of a professional, and had a natural ability to make others feel at ease and valued. Survivors include her loving husband of 12 years, Oliver Kelley Hulsey of Kennebunk; her son, Glenn Pierce and his wife Gordana Rabrenovic of Brookline, MA; two step-sons: Charles Hulsey of Temple, ME and Richard G. Hulsey and his wife Gail of Litchfield, ME; two step-daughters: Joanne E. Hulsey of Kennebunk, and Rayna Farrell and her husband Randy of St. Maries, ID; step son-in-law Peter Sentner of Kennebunk; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. There are no calling hours. Committal of the urn will take place on Friday, October 5, at 2 PM at North Gorham Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 6 at 2 PM at Christ Church, 6 Dane St., Kennebunk, with Reverend Steve Hastings officiating.
