Lucia Enos Obituary

Our dearly loved mother passed on October 2nd after a long valiant battle with cancer. Lucy was predeceased by her parents Antonio & Teresa Bocanfuso, originally of Ischia, Italy and her husband the late Leonard Edward Enos, (Lenny Blue) of Provincetown, MA. Lucy and her husband Leonard, as well as his late business partner Herman Janard are best remembered as proprietors of J. & E. Fruit and Produce, The Old Colony Tap, The Surf Restaurant, and various rentals and land holdings about the town of Provincetown. Lucy began wintering at Hutchinsons Island, FL, in 1987; yet whether wintering in Florida or summering in Provincetown, Lucy was happiest at home and surrounded by her family. To Lucy her family was her world. However she is remembered as attending Church, bingo, card groups, the movies, dining out and vacationing with both family and friends. Lucy is survived by her children, Leonard and his wife Gail, and Robert of Provincetown, MA, and Marcia and her husband Sean Garvey of Queensbury, NY as well as her grandchildren, Leonard E. Enos III and his wife Anna of Harwich, MA, Lisa Bennett of Boca Raton, FL, Beth Federico and her husband Adam of Melrose, MA, Robert A. Enos II and his wife Eva of Provincetown, MA and John Peter Garvey IV and Sean J.T. Garvey II both of Queensbury, NY. In addition to her grandchildren she is survived by 5 great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Taylor, Tatiana, Zachary, and Madelyn. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 8th in St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11 Prince St., Provincetown at 10AM, followed by burial in St. Peter the Apostle Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday 5:00 to 8:00PM at the Gately - McHoul, 94 Harry Kemp Way, PROVINCETOWN. If desired memorial contributions in honor of Mrs. Enos may be made to Visiting Nurses Associates, 434 Route 134, Building G, South Dennis, MA 02660 or to Neely House, c/o The Cam Neely Foundation, 30 Winter St., 2nd Flr, Boston, MA 02108. The Family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Jackie Rozza, Santricia Walker, Freda, Dorothy & Paulie Powell who helped care for and comfort Lucy during the course of her illness.

A CLOSE FAMILY FRIEND

October 8, 2007

MAY YOUR MOTHER FIND PEACE. SHE WAS A GREAT LADY. ALWAYS THERE TO LEND A HELPING HAND, AND DID SO FOR SO MANY WITHOUT , ASKING NOTHING IN RETURN. WE ALL CAN REFLECT ON HER LIFE AND HOPE THAT WE CAN DO THE SAME. I WILL MISS HER HAND OF PEACE IN CHURCH AND THAT SMILE AND KIND WORDS. TO ALL OF HER FAMILY, NO SHE'S AT PEACE LOOKING DOWN ON US ALL AND SAYING PAYERS FOR US ALL.

I never met you Lenny but Gail was a dear friend from Melrose. I know the feeling of loss as I lost mom and dad 2 years ago. I am going to Melrose to see one of the dearest friends, Jim Chetwynd. I owe him so much. Frank Vitale

Lenny, Gail & family, you have my deepest sympathies at this time in your life when grief seems to take over everything. Lucy is at peace now, no pain, no worry just happy times in the "garden of the Angels" with all her family and friends that have made the trip before her. May GOD give you all the strength and love you need at this time.

Dear Lenny, Bobby and Marcia (whom I haven't met)-

I am so very disheartened by your loss, and mine, of your lovely mother. To me, she was one of the highlights of Provincetown. She always looked beautiful (and never over 38), always had a smile and a kind word and a hug, and always wanted to play cards.

I know her passing is a terrible loss to you all, and all who knew her, but how much richer we all are for having known such a kind and wonderful woman.
