Dear Loewenguth family,
We are very deeply saddened and sorry to hear of Pete's passing. He truly was an amazing person and loved by all who came in contact with him. We spent wonderful times together at Niagara University and enjoyed meeting up after college. We will always remember his legacy: an infectious smile; abundance of love, spirit, and adventure; a true gentleman, and a loving friend; an honor to know; and so much more. He was larger than life itself, and will be deeply missed in this world.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Jeannie, Charlie, Will and the Loewenguth family. We are deeply saddened since we got the news. Please accept our deepest condolensces. What little time we spent with Peter, as we got to know him through Jeanne, we were always enchanted by his open smile, his old-school gentleman nature, loved his adventurousness, loved his terrific mind and personality, and knew him to be a great father and husband. We loved all this and so much more. It is so hard to find a few words to synthesize such a wonderful person. We know he suffered these last years, and at least the pain is no more for him. Our wish for the extended Loewenguth family is passage with as little pain and sadness as is possible as you deal with the loss. Our prayers go with all of you. With much love and with far away hugs, The Sandhu Family.

I want to send my condolences and prayers to the Loewenguth family. I worked downstairs from Peter for several years in Prague 1. Peter always had a friendly greeting and time for a chat, plus he had the prettiest rose garden in Prague. I feel lucky to have become acquainted with Peter and I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest sympathy to the Loewenguth family at this time of loss. It is hard for me to believe that the same Peter I hugged as he completed the NYC Marathon has now gone to God. I believe he was a gift of God to all who knew him. May grace stengthen all.

I was very sad to learn of Peter Loewenguth’s death. I taught Peter at Sacred Heart School in Rochester New York and occasionally saw him after graduation – the last time being in the early 1980s. I have many positive memories of Peter. He was a good student with a great personality and an even greater sense of humor -- always ready with a laugh or a smile. He conveyed a strong sense of identity, responsibility and empathy for others. He liked people and had many friends who respected and admired him. I regret that I did not know Peter in later years. By all measures, he was a rare and remarkable individual – responsible, successful, attentive and caring to all with whom he came into contact. My deepest sympathy goes to his family and friends over their great loss.

I was a classmate of Pete's at Niagara. The Red Coach girls just loved it when Pete came to our parties because he brought out the best in us. Jackie and Patti creating "Hamburger" with Pete is one memory that always makes me laugh. I remember riding 12 hours to Boston with him and during the ride the same song kept playing, "The Pina Colada" song. Pete would sing it over and over during the trip, even when it wasn't playing on the radio. Everytime I hear that song I think of him. Pete will be missed but the memories and the gift of enjoying life that he gave to us will live on.

I, like many others, have a true sense of loss with the news of Peter's death. Going to both Sacred Heart and Aquinas together, we shared so many great times that became a strong foundation in us as adults. Pete was a very kind and considerate guy that could bring out the best in others, and he would always greet you with his disarming smile. Losing touch over the years is quite sad because of the finality of his death, but my wonderful memories of Pete will live on in the stories I tell my family about the two of us growing up together. I guess this is my way of thanking him for being my friend.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family and I hope memories of Pete's time with you eases some of your pain. Find some comfort in knowing that Pete is putting a smile on God's face for the same reason he put one on ours.

I never met anyone so unafraid to live life as Peter. I cannot imagine the number of people he helped and inspired in his lifetime. I thank him for teaching me how to drive a stick shift in his blue truck on St. Patricks Day while at Niagara for sure the lord was with us because I certainly could not see. We will raise a pint of Guiness in his Honor each St Patricks Day to celebrate his life. Brian and Kim Kelly
