Anastasia Papaioannou Obituary

Of Quincy. Oct 7, 2007, at the age of 95. Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Protopresbyter Rev. Panteleimon Papaioannou. Loving mother of Dr. Seraphim Papajiannis and his wife Eugenia of Quincy, MA and Mrs. Irene Loudas and her husband Basil of St. Paul, MN. Grandmother of Luke Loudas of Minneapolis, MN, Paul Loudas and his wife Wendy of Woodbury, MN, Paul Papajiannis and his wife AnnMarie of Hingham, MA, Anastasia Maranian and her husband Ronald of Quincy, MA and Maxine Papaconstantinou and her husband Steve of Shakopee, MN. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren Nicholas, Timothy and Melanie Loudas of Woodbury, MN, Michael, Stephan and Thomas Maranian of Quincy, MA and Eleni Papaconstantinou of Shakopee, MN. She is also predeceased by two brothers Demetrios and Christos Checanis and two sisters Athena Mavroudis and Maria Paliongas. She was born in Greece on July 20, 1912. She devoted her life assisting her husband who served for over 20 years as chancellor of the Mitropolis in Kastoria, Greece and subsequently volunteered his services as a retired priest at several Churches in Greece and also in the Greater Boston area in the 1970s and early 1980s. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Lydon Funeral Chapel, QUINCY. Visiting hours will be Thursday Oct. 11 from 7-9 p.m. in the St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church, 119 Common St., Braintree. Funeral Services will take place in St. John Chrysostome Church in Thessaloniki, Greece, where she will be buried. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Catherine's Church Building Fund.
