John J. Sandlin

39, of Boston, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Oct. 12, 2007 in Boston Medical Center. Born in Holyoke, he was a 1986 graduate of Agawam High School and attended the former Chamberlyn Junior College in Boston. John had worked as a head waiter and bartender at Blackbeard's Castle in St. Thomas in the Virgin Isles, and at the former Caf Budapest in Boston. He leaves his father, Herman Sandlin of Waco, KY, his mother, Rosemary (Alajanian) Sandlin of Feeding Hills, two brothers, George L. Sandlin of Revere, MA, Paul A. Sandlin of West Springfield, a sister, Leeanne Martin of Springfield, a brother-in-law, Keith English of West Springfield, his former brother-in-law, Sid Martin of Springfield, three nephews, Steven Martin, Jon Martin, Michael Martin, an uncle, John Sandlin of Russell Springs, KY, and many cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Leonard and Fanney (Sparks) Sandlin, and his maternal grandparents, George and Mary (DiDonato) Alajanian. The funeral will be Monday at 9 AM from the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street, with a Mass in St. Anthony's Church of All Saints Parish at 10, both in AGAWAM, MA. The burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Sunday from 5-7 PM.
