I'm wondering if John had an in with his new landlord with the Sox winning the ALCS. I believe that he did. Thanks for pulling for us, even now! I miss you John!

John would have loved his funeral. From the irreverant jokes @ the funeral home to the traffic jam in Winthrop Center (caused by the 40-50 cars in the procession) it was a perfect reflection of his personality and popularity. He will be greatly missed by all he has touched.

I'm so sorry to hear about John's passing. I work the overnight shift at FOX25, and would talk to John all the time. He even came in for a tour of the studios a while back. He was a great guy--and will be missed.

Not having an opportunity to meet John, I know you Gail have lost not only a husband but also your true friend. I wish I were closer to give you my shoulder to lean on if needed; however, I know your family and friends will surround you with love and care. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

John:
It is with a heavy heart that I sign this book. My "half full" outlook on life had you beating this challenge. The palapa in Cancun will not be the same without you and I shall cherish the memories, your stories and jokes and music trivia. Maybe I won't miss the music trivia as you always managed to stump me! I will never hear the expression "Did I tell you the one about..." without thinking of you! My thoughts and prayers are with Gail during this time of sorrow and you can be sure that we will take her under wing with double Mamacitas and Bubaluba's and celebrate your life. Fondly, Kim (Dos Leches)

Over the more than 30 years I've known her, Gail always spoke of John with warm affection and a kind of sweet humor, which marked him a good husband and just the mate for her. It is sad that she has lost him, but I understand that John and she were spared the great pain that often accompanies death from cancer. That cannot compensate for the loss, but at least their final days weren't clouded by great physical pain. My best to her and her family.

My sympathies to all the Soares family. I remember living next door to Johnny and Gail when I was small, and seeing him over the years due to my friendship with Paul and Patty. May time and happy memories help you get through this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Most Sincerely,
Lori Henry

Words cannot adequately convey how truly sorry I am that John is no longer with us. He truly was one of a kind and for that I will ALWAYS smile when I think of him. My heart aches for Gail, his wonderful wife, partner, and friend. John...we may not have had that re-match here on earth, but you better warm up for when we meet again my friend!

I smile everytime I think of you, John. You always went out of your way to make people laugh.
I'll remember your jokes and imitations for a long, long time (especially, "Good for you" -- years later, I still laugh when I think of that story).
We're going to miss you. I'll leave a place for you at the poppaloppa in Cancun, buddy.

Dear Uncle Johnny,
You were a great man and a loving and funny uncle. I will always cherish time spent with you. You and Aunt Gail gave me the best vacation of my life - I'll always remember Cancun 89! I know you are now at peace and you are with Papa and my Dad, and all the other wonderful people who left us too soon. May you always shine bright and look over all of us.
Love,
Patty

It's impossible to believe you're gone, John. You were like a force of nature and the world is a little quieter now that you've left us. We will miss you and pray for Gail, every day of our lives. Thank you for being a part of what made our lives better.
