I was truly saddened at the loss of April. Albeit, briefly working with April, I believe she brightened everyone’s day. I recall her great enthusiasm and love for animals and how people were drawn to her generous soul.

My deepest condolences go out to April's family and loved ones. I think April was my first friend at Carnegie Mellon. Our dorm was a friendly bunch and April was by far the friendliest--or at least the most energetic. Our second year, on a whim we got eyebrow rings together (I still have the scar). By the time our third year rolled around, we tried to "inspire spirit" in everyone at Homecoming by painting our faces in our school colors. I have a memory from this day and this is how I will picture April when I think of her.

April was a wonderful person, very special in many ways. I am so glad I had an opportunity to know her and share time with her these past few years. There are very few people I have met in my life that are so positive and full of life as April. She always had a smile on her face and looking for that next adventure or challenge. She lived bigger and better in her 29 years than most people do in double that time. We will never forget April.

April, you truly were one of a kind, an amazingly unique spirit. You left a mark on everyone you came in contact with, and the zeal and enthusiasm that you brought to everything you did was infectious. I am grateful for the times we got to share together and for all your kind words and unwavering friendship. You will be missed dearly.
To April's family, you are incredible, strong people and I see where April's goodness was instilled. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dearest DuPont family,
We were shocked and saddened by the news of April's death. Shared experiences at ASL and in Northville bring back fond memories of April's bright smile, her quick wit and her sense of adventure. You are, and will continue to be, in our thoughts and in our prayers.

April,
You always used to say that creme fraiche makes everything better. Last night we made creme fraiche ice cream in your honor; I figured you would approve. Thanks for being such a great friend all these years. Thanks for reminding me that turning 30 isn't all that important in the whole scheme of things. I shall cherish you always.

My deepest condolences to April's family.I cannot express how much April means to me, my only regret is that we all had not kept better in touch after leaving ASL. I have no words that do justice to what a beautiful soul she was. I will miss her dearly.

The only thing greater than the pain of losing April so soon and so tragically is the joy of having had the chance to know her and have her touch our lives. May all of us, filled with deep grief and sorrow over this great loss, find comfort in the warmest of memories of this remarkable individual whose capacity to see the world with such beauty and love was without end. Let April continue to inspire us all. . .

April was a beautiful lady, inside and out. She was so outgoing and full of passion for life. Even though I've known her briefly she left an irreplaceable impression on me. When we met it was as if we'd always been friends - like she never met a stranger. May God comfort you and give you peace in this time of great loss. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with all of April's family and friends.

To: The DuPont family. The loss of April has affected me deeply since trying to help her last Sunday. United States Marines are called upon in times of great need to help the ones that are less able to help themselves. That was the first time I felt completely useless and unable to help my fellow man. Please know that I did everything I possibly could to assist April during her trying time and that she was not alone. I was with her. Please accept my most heartfelt and deepest sympathy for your loss. Although, I didn’t know April, personally, I also feel like I’ve lost something very close to me. – David J. Mazzarella

April's friendship to me can never be replaced. I will miss her fire, her total lack of social filters, her love of the Red Sox (the most diehard female fan I've ever met), her warmth, her love of animals, her candor, and her total and complete confidence and acceptance of me. At the times I needed a good friend the most, she was there. Unquestionably solid and supportive. She was my friend for life. I will miss her everyday, but I will also take with me the lessons I learned from her: don't hold back, love fiercely, believe in yourself, and enjoy life.
