Dear Howard and Family,
Please accept our deep and heartfelt sympathy on the great loss of your beloved son, Daniel. We have been friends of your parents, Adelle and Morris, since Connecticut days, so we knew about him and how wonderful he was from the beginning. May you find comfort in your memories and those of the many people whose lives he touched.

Howard and Maxine,
Howard I just learned of Daniel's sudden passing from Marci (who heard this tragic news through Eddie Yapchian). I am shocked to say the least to learn about your loss. THere is nothing more tragic than a parent who must bury a child (my mother just went through this - I lost my younger brother about a month ago). Sherry and I both wish to extend our solemn condolences at this time of deep loss. Our thoughts are with you and Maxine.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dan was a friend and colleague of mine at The Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School. We were both math teachers. He was kind and smart and a good friend to me. I am just so sorry.

I knew Dan from college. He and I played trumpet together in several shows at Harvard. He was a great guy and a fine musician. My sympathies to his family.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Daniel. But looking into the faces of those whose lives he touched I could see that a special person had come and all too quickly gone.
My prayers are with you all, Lyzz

We wish to send you and yours our heartfelt condolences. We always enjoyed the trumpet and piano playing by Dan during the summer evenings when he practiced. It reminded us of our evenings at the San Francisco Bay outdoor concerts.
He will always be remembered by us.

No words can express the sadness we feel for your family and poor Ethel. Dan was such a wonderful person. My husband Dan Young traveled with both of them in Africa. There are so many great stories about their trip. I have been very blessed to have had the chance to get to know Dan and Ethel since their return to the states. Dan and I have also enjoyed the company of Dan and Sara on their last trip visiting their grandparents in the Maryland area. I hope that you can find some comfort in knowing that everyone who has had the chance to know Dan will miss him greatly
