stuck within this world of shielding tears
see this world teaches me to hide all emotion
so when i wanna cry i bite my lip as i trip
continuously over obvious stairs as i slip down
a mountain built on pain
see my eyes strain, my contacts dry and my
heart wains as my memory pains to grip
grip upon my reality
see i see shadows that grip the very truth
the truth that i hide,
but when my sun goes down and I walk alone
towards my destination, those shadows become my environment, they enthrall me and encapsulate my very being
so i run and turn on the lights.
but you gotta sleep sometime. and when my eyelids relax
my muscles un-contract here it is again
an ongoing circle, within this there are no hurdles
cause it will always be and hurdles hint towards an escape that will never come
see i tried to get some of your things
sleep with your shirt and hug what you held but...
if there is no you to be help then what will hold...
what can hold.... emptiness?
"My aunt who passed away... dedicated to you... it pains me more than u can ever know and more than i can express to anyone that you are gone. everyday is a process that i struggle to get through.. but i'm here cause you said i could make it and you never did lie."- Breyana (Before you passed I said I felt like I wanted to say something but didn't know what to say. Well...this is it.)

I knew Mary a while back when she worked at the IRS. She was such a good worker. I hated to see her leave. I am very saddened by her death. I pray that her two children will learn from the positive forces in her life, and go on to have meaningful and productive lives. God bless her family.

Mary was just a teenager, the younger sister of my dear friend Brenda, when I last saw her but I will always remember her wonderful smile. My deepest sympathy goes the Ellis, Brown and Hill families. I am so sorry for your loss.

To the Entire Brown/Ellis Family, I was deeply saddened to hear of Mary's passing,my condolences to you all. Mary was a beautiful woman with a special soul, it's been some time since I seen her, but my memories of her are very clear, when I told my parents yesterday, they were shocked, my mom always called her "Lean back" because when that song came out, Mary loved it and danced at our family reunion, she will never be forgotten for her love of music and her love of life and family. I will always remember her. Mike, if you need me for anything,I am here for you. Brenda,Sharon,Jerry,Jimmy & Guy,cherish the memories, my prayers are with you. Khadijah & Romare, hold on to each other and be strong, I know this is an extremely tough time for you all, my heart and prayers are with you. Sorry I am not able to make the service, but know my thoughts are with you all. God Bless this family always!

I can't believe that Mary has left us. She had the wonderful ability to make anyone smile and laugh. The world is just a little lonelier and a little quieter today. God's speed, Mary.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
