Rita McCormack Obituary

At the age of 88, passed away peacefully October 27, 2007 of Randolph. Beloved wife of the late Joseph V. McCormack. Cherished sister of Virginia M. Mahoney of W. Roxbury and the late Paul Ahern and Patricia Manning. Devoted auntie of many nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 N. Main St. (Rt. 28) RANDOLPH, until 10:30 AM Tuesday followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Mary Church, Randolph. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 9:00 to 10:30 AM. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to Mission Church Restoration Fund, 1545 Tremont St. Boston, MA 02120-2996. Mrs. McCormack died at Faulkner Hospital in West Roxbury after a brief illness. She was born and grew up in Boston. Rita lived in Randolph for over 50 years. She was a retired telephone operator for Prudential Insurance. She was a life-long Red Sox fan, a member of the Telephone Pioneers, a member of the choral group at Traditions of Dedham and an avid bowler. We have been most fortunate to have been blesssed with Aunt Rita's presence in our lives. She possessed a terrific sense of humor, a great love of her extended famly, the ability to light up any room she entered, and quiet generosity. May she rest in peace.
