Charles Landry Obituary
Age 65, recently of Hernando, Florida, formerly of Westford, died on Sat., Oct. 27, 2007 at his home following a long illness. Beloved husband of 42 years of Dorothy Marie (Donovan) Landry; loving father of Christine N. Landry Terrasi and her husband, Martin J. Terrasi of Iverness, FL; Charles J. Landry, Jr. and his wife, Maureen A. Jones Landry of Ayer, MA; Karen P. Landry of Nashua, NH; Peter D. Landry and his wife, Jennifer Zdon of Morrisville, NC; beloved brother of Robert Edmund Landry of Marblehead; a sister, Joan Theresa Landry Johnson of Bedford, MA; also four beloved grandchildren: Martin J. Terrasi, Patrick A. Terrasi, Tyler J. Landry, and Ryan W. Landry; Father of the late Meghan Leigh Landry, who died in 1986. He was born in Winthrop, raised in Revere, son of the late Charles Elmer Landry & Estelle Marie (Doherty) Landry. Chuck attended the Maine Maritime Academy, receiving his B.S. in Maritime Transportation, served as a United States Naval Reserve Officer and a United States Merchant Marine Officer, attaining the rank of Chief Mate. Mr. Landry served in various licensed positions on multiple contract vessels for the International Organization of Masters Mates & Pilots (IOMM&P) and attended the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies throughout his career. Mr. Landry was a proud and loyal 43-year member of the IOMM&P serving the organization and the US Merchant Marines. Chuck was appointed and then elected as the Port of Boston and New England IOMM&P Representative for 15 years. Additionally, Chuck was elected as an IOMM&P Delegate for over 20 years. In 1998 Mr. Landry retired from active sailing. Visitation will take place on Thursday, Nov. 1st, 2007 at the Healy Funeral Home, 57 North Main St., WESTFORD, from 5:30-8:30 PM. Funeral Friday Morning with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine Church, 107 N. Main St. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westford. Funeral Director J.A.
